Join us for an overnight platform camping trip in conjunction with the annual Roanoke River Partners Paddle Days event! We will camp at the River Landing platform cabin on the edge of Williamston, NC for our first night. Day 2 day we’ll pack up, and paddle down river, cutting off into Devil’s Gut Creek to explore and camp on the Beaver Lodge/Tail double platform for the night. Day 3 we’ll join in with the big Paddle Days Event day trip trippers as they come past Beaver Lodge/Tail Platforms. Our trip will conclude in the town of Jamesville where we will join in with the Paddle Day Event late afternoon lunch, music and festivities. Meet time Friday afternoon/evening is flexible.
This trip includes: kayaks or canoes, platform reservations, tents, most meals, Paddle Days Event registration, and guide service.

Private Overnight Platform Camping
Explore the amazing water jungles of North Carolina’s coastal plain. Home to the black bear, river otters, bobcat and mink, the Roanoke River contains some of the largest intact bottomland hardwood swamp forest east of the Mississippi. Visit and spend night in large backwater swamps, where the skies are dark and lit with stars, the waters bordered by thousand year-old bald cypress trees and towering tupelos decorated with mistletoe and Spanish moss. More than two-hundred species of birds, including bald eagles, osprey, anhinga (snake-bird) and cerulean warblers, reside on the Roanoke. The fishing is good too, with striped and largemouth bass, black crappie, river herring, hickory shad, lunker catfish, bowfin and gar.
