WEST POINT OUTPOST OPERATIONS SUPPORT - 30 to 60 hrs/month

Saturday and Sunday workdays

 

Positions require operating the West Point on the Eno Outpost.  Duties include set up and break down of registration booth, registering and prepping clients for paddling canoes or kayaks for hourly rentals on the West Point millpond impoundment.

 

Applicants must be first aid & CPR certified, able to act quickly and with good judgment, be able to lift relatively heavy loads, and have a valid drivers license.

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS & GROUP PROGRAMS SUPPORT -

Part Time Summer Work

June - August Weekend and Weekday Work / with the possibility of continuing work into the Fall

 

Position requires supporting all aspects of Frog Hollow’s Adventure Camps and similar adult group programs.  Duties include camp and group trip prep, program planning and implementation.

 

Applicants must be first aid & CPR certified, able to act quickly and with good judgment, have previous experience working with adventure based camp programs, be comfortable paddling canoes and kayaks, be able to lift relatively heavy loads, have a clean driving record and a valid drivers license.  Pre-employment training required.

 

Position begins June, 2011 - Resumes currently being accepted.  Position to be filled by May 15 at the latest

 

KAYAK INSTRUCTORS & GUIDES - Part Time

All levels of kayak instructors and guides being considered.  Duties will vary depending upon new employees credentials.  Possible duties include: lead or support kayak and/or canoe instructionals and/or trips, delivery of canoes/kayaks, guiding groups of varying sizes and skill levels, handle all prep and breakdown of instructional/trips, occasional office days, occasional West Point on The Eno days.

 

Applicants’ qualifications will determine the types of instruction/trips employee will run.  All applicants must be first aid & CPR certified, highly capable and confident in a canoe and kayak, able to act quickly and with good judgment in various on-water situations, able to lift relatively heavy loads, have a valid drivers license and good driving record.  The level in which a new employee begins working as an instructor or guide will be also be determined by previous work experience and any formal training in kayaking or canoeing, or other outdoor adventure based activities (Ex. certification/training through/as (or in the process of) one or more of the following (or similar): Frog Hollow Instructor and/or Guide Training, ACA, BCU, NOLS, Outward Bound, BSA, GSA, American Red Cross, WFR, EMT, etc)

Staff Trainings are available beginning in February of 2011.
