June 11-15, 2012 / ages 12-16 Guide-in-Training options ages 16-19 This overnight camp explores the skills and intricacies of backcountry travel while staying amazingly close to home. Over this trip we will backpack, paddle and camp along the length of the Eno River, the western end of Falls Lake, and the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail!
Camp Activities: · Canoe and Kayak instruction and packing techniques · Backpacking skills and packing techniques · Map and Compass Skills and route finding · GPS Skills · Low Ropes/Team Building Activities · Knot Tying · Leave-No-Trace Ethics Education · Journaling
Our Camps Guiding Principals - Set in a supportive and nurturing environment, activities are designed to educate campers about various outdoor skills and/or ecology, as well as challenge them in an effort to foster confidence and personal growth.
